Black Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis, S. nigra) is a shrub native to North America, Europe, Western Asia and North Africa. It grows in open and treed wetlands across the Muskoka area. It produces fragrant blooms the size of dessert plates in mid-summer and clusters of black-purple berries in the late summer/early fall that are a favourite of birds, bears and foragers. Elderberries have long been harvested for use in pies, jellies, wine and prepared into syrup. Elderberries must be cooked before being consumed.
Our Elderberry syrup is made from ethically wild harvested Elderberries from the Muskoka wilds, organically grown Elderberries and local honey. The syrup is infused with supportive botanicals including Astragalus, Echinacea, Ginger, Cinnamon & Black Pepper.
Elderberry Syrup has a long history as a traditional tonic to support health and wellness for the whole family. Learn more about elderberry here.
