Parsnips are a root vegetable closely related to carrot or parsley. They have a long tap root with cream coloured skin and flesh. They have a distinct earthy and nutty flavour, with a sweetness similar to a carrot.
Similar to carrots, they can be used in savory or sweet preparations. Boil, roast, or sautee. Thinly slice or spiralize raw parsnips for a salad.
